In 1958, Barbara Sansoni, a colourist and artist, created BAREFOOT. She wanted to help young Sri Lankan women, who had little schooling and no skills. All BAREFOOT products are painstakingly handmade from start to finish. Using yarn that is hand dyed, from premium Swiss colourfast and non-toxic dyes, the fabrics are hand woven and then made into different products to be exported. The high quality workmanship is assured, as there is no time asserted on the weavers and needlewomen.
