The stormglass is believed to be a very accurate piece of weather forecast instrument since the year 1750, when it was first used by sailing ships to predict stormy weather. A sealed glass container, filled with liquid, allows you to forecast the weather by observing the appearance of the liquid in the glass. The stormglass is believed to be best at predicting stormy weather within the next 24 to 48 hour period.
