    THE BAREFOOT STORY:

In 1958, Barbara Sansoni set her mind to help young Sri Lankan women who had little schooling and no skills. As a colourist and artist, she was able to use her skills to create the BAREFOOT concept to achieve her goal. Today, BAREFOOT is a premier textile design company exporting products to all parts of the world.

All BAREFOOT products are fully handmade from start to finish. The yarn is hand dyed, using premium Swiss colourfast and non-toxic dyes, then hand woven and made into various products. The high quality workmanship is assured, as there is no time asserted on the weavers and needlewomen. They are not cheap substitutes for machinery, which explains the cost of BAREFOOT products, however, these products will last a lifetime, and be a constant reminder that you too can help people around the world who are less fortunate just by buying the products that they painstakingly handmake. BAREFOOT products are not mass-produced and no two pieces are the same.

BAREFOOT is not a charity organisation. The workers receive an honest wage to earn a living. Through BAREFOOT, under the Fair Trade Program, these people can give their families food and shelter. Providing their children an education becomes a possibility. Today, the cloth from BAREFOOT is in demand for its utility and appearance. Their creative designers are encouraged to be innovative and creative.

Price is for Large Frilled Neck Lizard.
