Encounter Australian Wildlife - Pygmy Possum

A pygmy-possum is the size of a mouse, with a tail that can curl around and grip branches. The possum is active at night, and sleeps in the day in tree hollows. Because they are so small, it is difficult for them to stay warm in very cold weather, so they stay inactive, or torpid, for a few weeks at a time in winter to save energy. This beautiful handpainted polyresin is designed by Jane Elwell. Dimensions: 130mm ABOUT THE ARTIST Jane Elwell has a love of Australian native birds and animals and a natural flair for creating works of art. Her passion shows clearly in the fine detail and accuracy of her sculptures. For the last 19 years, she has worked from her studio gallery in Woodburn, Northern NSW, building a reputation of excellence that has seen her work in high demand by collectors both in Australia and overseas. Admire the beauty of the Australian wildlife through Jane's masterpieces.
