Kangaroo Toy

A kangaroo is Australia's most recognisable icon and this kangaroo soft toy will certainly be recognised by any child fascinated by a kangaroo. Brightly coloured and cute, this soft toy kangaroo will cheer up a child who is feeling unwell and even an adult. It makes a great gift for the young and old as the kangaroos are made by BAREFOOT under the Fair Trade Scheme and will be a constant reminder of how fortunate we are.

Under the Fair Trade Scheme, these kangaroo soft toys are painstakingly made one at a time and provide a means for those who are less fortunate to earn an honest day's wage to support their families and children. By buying this kangaroo, you are supporting a community who is less fortunate and helping them earn a living.

This kangaroo soft toy also makes a great development toy for a baby learning how to recognise colours and develop a sense of touch and feel. Each kangaroo soft toy is unique and the colour of the kangaroo varies from piece to piece.

Please choose between girl, boy or unisex in the selection box below and your kangaroo will be choosen accordingly.

THE BAREFOOT STORY:

Back in 1958, a lady by the name of Barbara Sansoni developed BAREFOOT. As a colourist and artist, she used her skills to help young Sri Lankan women, who had little schooling and no skills. Now, BAREFOOT, a success story, has become a premier textile design company exporting to all parts of the world whilst helping those in need.

All BAREFOOT products are fully handmade from start to finish. The yarn is hand dyed, using premium Swiss colourfast and non-toxic dyes, then hand woven and handmade into various products. The high quality workmanship is assured, as no time is asserted on the weavers and needlewomen. They are not cheap substitutes for machinery, which explains the relative cost of BAREFOOT products, but these painstakingly handmade products will last a lifetime and will provide a constant reminder of how fortunate we are. BAREFOOT products are by no means mass-produced and no two pieces are the same.

BAREFOOT is not a charity organisation. The workers receive an honest wage for the work they do and can earn a living with dignity. Through the Fair Trade Program, they can support themselves and provide food and shelter for their families. Today, the cloth from BAREFFOT is in demand for its utility and appearance. Creative designers are encouraged to be innovative and stretch their creative intelligence.
