The Australian $50 note makes the perfect gift as a reward for a job well done or to express your appreciation to someone for a kind gesture. It also makes a great gift when you'd like to give something that is uniquely Australian.

The Australian $50 Note was designed by Brian Sadgrove and has been in circulation since 1995. The note features images of indigenous Australian David Unaipon on one side and Australia’s first female politician Edith Cowan on the reverse.

David Unaipon (28 September 1872 – 7 February 1967) who was born David Ngunaitponi was an Australian of the Ngarrindjeri people. He was a preacher, inventor and writer who broke stereotypes of Aboriginals. He was also known as the Australian Leonardo da Vinci for his mechanical ideas.

Edith Dircksey Cowan (2 August 1861 – 9 June 1932) was an Australian politician, social campaigner and the first woman elected to an Australian parliament. Cowan’s portrait was featured on an Australian postage stamp in 1975. In 1984 the federal Division of Cowan was named after her.
